Etc Cafe & Restaurant - Vegetarian Cuisine Review

Hi, folks,

Recently The Chennai Bloggers Club and Etc Cafe & Restaurant together invited us to review the restaurant's Sea Food Cuisine. I attended this event with my little niece, and being a Vegetarian, I am here reviewing their Vegetarian cuisine. The review is gonna be a two part review; this post is about the food, and the next post would be about the restaurant itself. For those who don't know, we are doing, "Things To Do In Chennai" series, and we are featuring this restaurant.

Okay, with no further ado, here goes the creamy, yummy mushroom soup.

Creamy Mushroom Soup
The Creamy Mushroom Soup was awesome, yummy, creamy, or in my little niece's terms, "Massttt!" The portion was quite less, but it was exactly sufficient as the soup was super thick and creamy. Neither me nor Nachos is a big fan of Mushroom soups, but this is one is something that totally bowled me over.

Here is a Vegetarian Menu served for the Bloggers' meet:

We were asked between the soups and all of us unanimously picked the Creamy Mushroom Soup. Moving to the starters, we were served four starters: Bharwan Paneer, Crispy Corn Pop, Olive Bundle, and Malai Broccoli.

Bharwan Paneer - Etc.
Bharwan Paneer
The Bharwan Paneer was a lovely, cheesy, and a little bit Desi starter that was absolute yum served with Mint Yoghurt Chutney.

Crispy Corn Pop - Etc.
Crispy Corn Pop

The Crispy Corn Pop is similar to the fried corns from BBQ Nation, and it was hands down my niece's favorite.

Olive Bundle - Etc.
Olive Bundle

The Olive Bundle is for Olive lovers like me. It was like a momo filled with olives. This was my favorite starter.
Malai Broccoli - Etc.
Malai Broccoli

The Malai Broccoli was mere Malai with Broccoli. The problem with it was that the  Broccoli was over grilled ending up messing with the whole dish. Otherwise, the dish was just about fine.

The Main Course had: Butter Naan/Garlic Naan, Malai Kofta, Mangalorean Veg. Curry, Tofu Grill, Aubergine Sandwich.

The Butter Naan was smooth and tasty, but the Garlic Naan had staunch raw Garlic taste instead of the blended taste that it actually should have.

The Malai Kofta was the stealer of the show. It was creamy, yummy, and tasty.

The Mangalorean Veg Curry was tangy and tasty. It was unique and I guess this would go well better with Rice than with Naan or other Indian Breads.

The Aubergine Sandwich was tangy, yummy, and creamy. It was served with Couscous Pilaf.

The Grilled Tofu Steak was a disaster. Neither was the Tofu good nor were the seasonings.

Here comes my favorite part: the desserts. The desserts were Mini Baklava, Chocolate Mousse, Creamy Cake with Chocolate Truffle. All of them were yummy. Baklava was my favorite and Mousse was my niece's.

And yeah, we had a drink to start and a mocktail to finish the meals with. The welcome drink was musk melon juice, and the mocktail was Cranberry-Orange Juice. Both of them were yummy.
