Bombay Kulfi: The Place Where Kulfi Called Dibs For Her Name

Vanakkam!

Before we get into details about this delightful place called Bombay Kulfi, let me clarify something. I’m named Nacho because Nacho rhymes with Macho, not because I like Nachos... Although I do; I love ‘em.

Well, the first special thing about this hidden treasure located in Adyar is that they literally serve Bombay Kulfi. These folks receive cold storage boxes from Mumbai every other day. That trumps the first assumption anyone makes after hearing about this place. Not another Thalappakatti biriyani or Kolkatta chat joint that believes a fancy name would do the trick. What we eat here is actually from Bombay. The quality is substantially higher than any other Kulfi joint in Chennai, at this price point.
The concept of this place is very simple. You get Kulfi Slice, Kulfi Sticks, and Natural ice creams. All in a range of flavours. All amazing. They all cost 30 to 35 bucks for a semi slice (about 50 grams).
Most of all, the process of thawing the kulfi to a (-14) degree Celsius, and cutting the slice with a knife into symmetric, small, bite sized, magical cubes is a so satisfying to look at!

Of all the wide range of flavours like Pistachio, Mango, Chickoo, Gulkhand, Guava, and many more, my personal favourite was the classic, good old fashioned Malai Kulfi. Kulfi, however, liked Guava. This is a great place to sit, experiment and discover your tastes.

Quick tip: Try mixing flavours!

A quiet neighbourhood, friendly people, simple and hygienic serving, ample parking space, and an amazing value for money: all contribute to the magic of this place.  Note that if you are planning to visit this place as a group of more than 4 or 5, a takeaway might be a better option as the place cannot accommodate many (which is not a deal breaker by any means).
Also, if you are a person who likes Kulfi only in a Matki, well, you should still go here and the place will change your mind. There really are no complaints about this place.

Kulfi, being a Harry Pattukaran fan, left this sticky in their wall when we left. Kulfi is going to throw curses at me with her Harry Potter chopstick for making fun of her favourite book.

By the way... This is my first blog... I am so tempted to say "I lost my bloggiginity today”. Despite my initial jitters, when Kulfi first suggested that we start writing blogs about the Chennai lifestyle, the idea of writing about the amazing places we eat in instantly excited both of us.
Have you been to this place? Did you like it? Do you have any complaints or bad experiences? What do you think of the word “Bloggiginity”? Let us know!

Rating: 4.5/5
Do we recommend this place? Hell Yeah!
Will we visit again? Already did, and we will do again.
